Valencia, round 1 and ROUND 2

By Jach

So we took an overnight train from Granada.. big mistake. The train seats were uncomfortable, harshly lighted, someone in the back threw up, there was a mechanical error and then a delay. We did play Hold Em for chocolate (mad cheap here) until Tom kept hogging them and it became pointless. We slept muy uncomfortably and got to our hostal too early to check in and thus slept on the couches in front for about 5 hours.

However, the hostel here is super nice, and the weather is usually beautiful. Soccer is fun to watch here at the bars (The people here surprisingly don´t seem that into watching the Euro 2008, besides the Spanish games). We finally did our laundry and today we rented bikes and went to the beach. It was nice, and the highlight was playing beach soccer with three locals, Simone, Jorge, Alex, 3 on 3. We unfortunately lost 6-4, but the ball was super small and they were pretty good. I pulled a Hong Myong Bo and lost the ball right in front of our goal and the opponent scored. They were pretty cool and we might hang out with them later tommorow.

Seungjae got lost biking today, and we spent too much time searching for his lost butt. He´s mad slow on a bike, the Coreano Snail, so we kept having to stop and going back to pick him up. Perhaps he´s scared of traffic?

We had Valenciano Paella, the REAL paella, and it was mad good. Its come in a stone pot and we kept scraping the bottom for the nooroongi-like rice. We probably looked mad starved and poor because we scraped that pot CLEAN. Then we got 1.10 euro icecreams at McDonalds (Good everywhere!) and came back home.

Tommorow perhaps we go to market? My english is suffering terrible here and somehow has a Spanish accent.. weird. Tom still makes fun of fat people, as usual. Valencia is nice, me gusta Valencia!

VALENCIA ROUND 2 by Tom

So, we head out to the market the next day, and we were hugely disappointed. The market turns out to sell mostly feminine products and undergarments. We looked really out of place. Under Seungjae´s duress, we got Chinese food. A set menu for under 6 euros! The food was blah. It was extremely salty, I might as well have been eating a salt cube. I could taste the MSG and a little more and I might have gotten a stroke. This was the saltiest food I have ever eaten, like inedible. Seungjae ended up eating my noodles. But I guess I left feeling full, no more food after that. The Spanish version of Chinese food was okay though, the salt part ruined it though. Later that night, we decided to go to meet the three fellas we met at the beach. We ended up at a weed smoke up joint, but we had a nice talk with two middle aged men. They liked women apparently, A LOT. Anyways, our shirts smelled like weed after, we didn´t smoke. I ended up throwing away my shirt, and the next morning we were off to San Sebastian. The train ride would take the whole day.
